AV Rack Upgrade and Ceiling Speaker Install at Allamanda Elementary
Share
At Allamanda Elementary School in Palm Beach Gardens, the cafetorium’s outdated audio system wasn’t keeping up with the school’s needs. The sound was uneven, microphone performance was unreliable, and the rack had become a mess of mismatched gear. W&L Sound Consulting was called in to deliver a full system refresh—rebuilding the AV rack, installing new wireless microphones, and adding 20 ceiling speakers throughout the cafeteria area.
Rack Reinstallation with Reliable Analog Control
Our team rebuilt the system starting with the wall-mounted rack, rewired and restructured for clarity, safety, and long-term serviceability. The centerpiece of the rack is a professional analog mixer, offering tactile control with labeled inputs and outputs for easy operation by school staff.
We installed:
- Four new wireless microphone systems (handheld and lavalier
- A simple analog mixer with multiple mic and line inputs
- Rack-mounted amplifier for consistent audio performance
- Surge-protected power distribution
- Clearly labeled cable paths and terminal connections
This setup replaced a dated, loosely configured system with something purpose-built for school use: intuitive, dependable, and neatly installed.
20 Ceiling Speakers in 2x4 Grid
To improve sound coverage in the cafeteria, we installed 20 ceiling-mounted speakers spaced evenly within the school’s 2'x4' ceiling tile grid. These speakers were flush-mounted to maintain a clean look and wired in a 70V distributed system configuration.
Installation Highlights:
- Spaced for even audio coverage across all seating zones
- High-efficiency speakers voiced for speech clarity
- No zone control—single volume source for consistent audio everywhere
The goal was simplicity and consistency: one system, one volume level, and one less thing for staff to worry about.
Built for Daily Use
Unlike overcomplicated systems that require constant adjustment or training, this system was built with daily school operations in mind. Microphone volume, background music, and announcements are all controlled from one simple mixer, housed in a clean, locked rack.
No digital menus. No apps. Just reliable audio.
A Noticeable Improvement
Since the installation, the school has reported clear audio across the entire cafetorium, improved mic performance during assemblies, and fewer technical issues overall. Whether for lunch periods, school-wide events, or parent presentations, the new system has made communication easier and more effective.
Simple. Durable. Clear.
At W&L Sound Consulting, we build AV systems that are made to impress. This project at Allamanda Elementary is a perfect example of how we deliver clean installs, purpose-built wiring, and systems staff can trust—day in and day out.
